Originally appeared at Steelers Now: Ex-Steelers Wide Receiver Signs with UFL Team

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Ja’Marcus Bradley is landing in the UFL with the St. Louis Battlehawks along with Hakeem Butler. For Bradley, this is another chance in football after the Steelers waived/injured Bradley during training camp when he suffered a hamstring injury.

Bradley suffered the injury on Friday during the Friday Night Lights practice. He did not practice over the weekend, and while Mike Tomlin described it as a minor injury, it would appear that Bradley would have missed long enough to where the injury would significantly hamper his availability. If Bradley clears waivers, he will revert to the team’s injured reserve where he will either be out for the season or the Steelers can waive him with an injury settlement.

Bradley signed with the Steelers in November of last season but spent the year on the practice squad and never really got to display his talents to the Steelers’ coaches. During his time in Pittsburgh, he sported No. 84, turning heads for anyone who wears it given the significance of Antonio Brown’s number.

In his time with Cleveland, Bradley appeared in eight games and logged nine receptions for 124 yards. In addition, he returned kicks for the Browns at a point and averaged 24.5 yards per return. The special teams ability will definitely factor into Bradley’s chances of making the final roster.

At Louisiana-Lafayette, Bradley steadily improved each season to the point of being the first Ragin’ Cajun to haul in 10-plus touchdowns in consecutive seasons. Additionally, Bradley returned kicks for Louisiana in his final two seasons as he averaged 21.1 yards per return.

In 2019, Bradley led Louisiana with 60 receptions for 906 yards and 10 touchdowns. He finished his Ragin’ Cajun career ranked second in school history with 23 touchdowns.
