Crossover Week.

The Bengals take on the Rams in Cincinnati’s first Super Bowl appearance since 1988 (they have three total appearances, including this year).

Pro Football Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz was on that last Bengals team and he dropped by (virtually) to talk about a variety of topics, including his thoughts on Joe Burrow‘s confidence in his ability to play in the NBA.

“I’m old, so I was into the Jerry West, Wilt (era). Then I saw showtime with Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar,” Munoz explained.

Munoz, who will be part of Hydroxycut’s Big Game Workout on February 12 in Los Angeles, played basketball as well as baseball and football in high school. Munoz’s daughter, Michelle, played three seasons for the women’s team at the Ohio State University.

“I think I know basketball talent when I see it, so I’d have to see (Burrow) play a bit,” the 9-time Pro Bowler continued.

Off the field, when comparing the NBA and NFL, one of the major debates is usually how much better today’s All-Star game is than the Pro Bowl. Munoz believes that the NFL’s product was better before some of its recent changes.

“I’m not into watching the 7-on-7 competitions, which is basically what the Pro Bowl is (now), Munoz lamented. “NFL quarterbacks can complete passes to wide receivers when they are just going skeleton or 7-on-7.”

Munoz also defends the Cincinnati nightlife, shares his thoughts on whether Joe Burrow would automatically be a Hall-of-Famer if he wins the Super Bowl, and passes along the best financial advice he’s ever received in the exclusive interview, which will drop later in this week.
