The New York Giants lost Saquon Barkley. Devin Singletary has been pegged as his replacement as their new starting running back.

That being said, another depth option with proven production would make plenty of sense. A former division rival has been discussed around the media as a smart choice for NY.

The Giants were named the best fit for former Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Bill Barnwell of ESPN thinks that Elliott makes a ton of sense for the Giants' offense.

Best fit: New York Giants. General manager Joe Schoen has already signed Devin Singletaryto take over as the team's lead back from Saquon Barkley, but there's little in the cupboard behind the former Bills and Texans back. Elliott is a more physical interior runner than Singletary and can help fill in as a pass-blocker, which is critical for a team that expects to play Daniel Jones under center in 2024. -- Bill Barnwell, ESPN

He's right, too. Zeke won't be overly expensive, and New York needs more depth at the position. They should sign a veteran like Elliott who is still a talented rusher and pass blocker.

The alternative for New York would be selecting a running back sometime on day two or three of the 2024 NFL draft. That's not ideal given their roster holes on both sides of the football.
