The Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday said goodbye to former first-round pick Germain Ifedi while also signing a quartet of players, including a rookie quarterback.

The roster moves in total by the organization announced: defensive back Lukas Denis, defensive lineman LaCale London and offensive lineman Barry Wesley are in.

The quarterback added is North Texas product Austin Aune.

Aune, 6-2 and 220, is 29 years old and played six years in the New York Yankees farm system. In 2022, Aune threw for 3,547 yards, 33 touchdowns and 15 interceptions for the Mean Green.

And out is Ifedi, who had been with the Falcons since spring of 2022, coming to Atlanta on a one-year deal.

Last year the veteran offensive lineman was in the role of swing tackle behind Kaleb McGary and Jake Matthews. Ifedi appeared in all 17 games for Atlanta last season, but played in just eight offensive snaps. He played mostly on special teams, with 72 snaps under his belt.

The Falcons did re-sign Ifedi this spring on another one-year deal. But he’s now free to produce for himself a fresh start with some pedigree behind him as he was once taken in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks

Ifedi has made 83 starts throughout the course of his NFL career and will now look to add to that number elsewhere.
