On Monday afternoon, the Falcons announced they have waived wide receivers Frank Darby and Chris Blair.

Darby is the more notable of the two receivers, given he was drafted by the team in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Arizona State. He was known for his exuberant personality, constantly walking around the facility with a smile on his face. However, he never really brought much to the team in his two seasons. Darby only appeared in 15 games, primarily on special teams. He was targeted five times on offense and caught two of those passes for 29 yards.

Darby left Friday’s preseason opener with an injury. There was never an update given, but it looks like his time with the Falcons has come to an end.

Additionally, the Falcons waived Chris Blair with an injury settlement. We’ll see if they add any more receivers to the room because as of now, there aren’t too many inspiring options behind Drake London, Mack Hollins, and Scotty Miller.
