Fantasy ballers: Youth is served with Week 7 projections
Three young players from the NFC are ready to outperform their Week 7 fantasy football projections, no cap.
Jordan Love (QB) Green Bay Packers
After averaging 22 fantasy points through his first four games, Love was low-key terrible with three interceptions and 7.98 fantasy points against the Raiders in Week 5. Should one bad game define such a young player?
Love’s projected 14.98 fantasy points this week feel pretty suspect. Not only did he and the squad get two weeks to prepare thanks to a bye, but the Broncos are his next opponent. Denver gives up the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
As a first-year starter, Love surely has more work to do, but there’s no reason for him to be ranked behind basic quarterbacks like Daniel Jones, Kirk Cousins or Baker Mayfield.
Michael Wilson (WR) Arizona Cardinals
Arizona’s third-round rookie has just 17 fewer yards (317) than the team’s leading receiver, Marquise Brown. He caught three of four targets for a team-high 62 yards against the Rams on Sunday but should have a better day against his NFC West rivals.
Only four teams give up more passing yards than the Seahawks, who allowed someone named Andrei Losivas to catch a touchdown last week. Seattle’s defense allows an average of 46.98 fantasy points per game to wide receivers.
With Cardinals running back James Conner on injured reserve, the team has no reason not to air it out against the Seahawks. If it does, look for Wilson to flex on his projected 6.50 fantasy points.
Kenneth Walker III (RB) Seattle Seahawks
Turnabout is fair play. As poorly as Seattle covers receivers, Arizona is just as bad at stopping the run. The Cardinals have allowed 800 yards on the ground this year, seventh-most in the league. That’s good news for Walker, whose six rushing touchdowns are tied for third among running backs.
Since being held out of the end zone in Week 1, Walker has been wracking up points with six touchdowns in his last four games. He’s yet to hit the century mark in 2023, but his first 100-yard game is a strong possibility against the Cardinals' underwhelming run defense.
Walker is averaging 18.3 fantasy points this year after putting up 13.5 fantasy points per game as a rookie. With 60 more carries than any Seahawks running back, he’s a safe bet to slay his 13.93 projected fantasy points.
