QB Jalen Hurts
In what most considered a down year for Hurts in 2023, he still averaged 21.0 fantasy points per game, second-most behind the Bills’ Josh Allen (23.1) in PPR formats on ESPN.
Each had 15 rushing touchdowns, giving both a safe floor. However, while Allen went in the fourth round of the network’s most recent mock draft, Hurts was taken at the top of the fifth round, one spot before the Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes and two spots in front of Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson.
Of course, with running back Saquon Barkley on the team, Hurts’ touchdown numbers could go down in 2024, making Jackson and Mahomes much safer picks.
WR A.J. Brown
Brown led the Eagles with 1,456 yards and finished the year as fantasy football’s fifth-leading receiver with 289.6 fantasy points. So far, he looks to be the sixth wide receiver off the board, squarely at the top of the second round in 10-team leagues.
Remember that Brown scored a single touchdown in the team’s last eight regular season games. By comparison, Rams rookie Puka Nacua scored four over that span and went one spot after Brown in ESPN’s draft.
WR DeVonta Smith
Smith finished 2023 as the 19th-best wide receiver in fantasy football. His 1,066 yards ranked 20th at the position. As the 20th receiver taken in fantasy drafts, he can be had with a fourth-round pick.
RB Saquon Barkley
Philadelphia typically likes to throw the ball, but fantasy managers really like Barkley’s prospects with the team. The 27-year-old running back had 1,242 yards and 10 scores in 14 games for the Giants last year while averaging 15.9 points per game, 13th-most among running backs.
This year, he’s being selected in the first round of fantasy drafts, the fourth running back taken after obvious choices like San Francisco’s Christian McCaffrey and relative newcomers like Atlanta’s Bijan Robinson and the Jets’ Breece Hall.
While never on par with top tight ends like the Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and the 49ers’ George Kittle, Goedert was always seen as an acceptable “Tier 2” prospect. These days, you’ll find him in the 15th round of fantasy drafts, the 13th tight end off the board, well after injured Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson and Raiders rookie Brock Bowers.
Elliott tied the Ravens’ Justin Tucker as fantasy football’s fourth-most productive kicker last season. The two are only slightly further apart on draft boards, with Tucker going at the end of Round 15 and Elliott being taken at the top of Round 16.

With Fletcher Cox and Haason Reddick on the roster, Philadelphia’s defense finished 28th in fantasy scoring. Without them, they’re a matchup-based waiver claim in 2024.
