Fire destroys home of seven-time Pro Bowler Earl Thomas

Though he's still waiting for his shot to make his return to the NFL, 2022 has been an eventful year for seven-time Pro Bowler Earl Thomas. It hasn't all been good news for the 33-year-old safety either.

Thomas was arrested in May for alleged violations of a court protective order. It was reported in mid-May that he was facing a felony for at least two violations of a May 2021 protective order.

According to the Austin American-Statesman, Thomas is facing allegations of sending threatening text messages to a woman. Thomas' lawyer says his client was reaching out to his ex-wife to arrange visits with their children.

Then on Thursday, Thomas' home in Orange County, Texas caught fire and burned down.

"When we arrived on scene the guys, the firefighter crew went in [and] found heavy fire conditions in that corner. We’re unable to get it under control quickly. With the size of the structure the choice was made by them to go ahead and pull out and just go defensive with it," fire chief Matt Manshack said, per 12 News Now.

Despite the home being declared a "total loss," there were no injuries reported after the incident.
