ARLINGTON - Having covered the 1990's Super Bowl Dallas Cowboys featuring "co-architects'' Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson, we've always felt "frienemies'' was an apt way to describe their post-1994-breakup relationship.

But as the Hall of Fame owner Jones is now opening up his Ring of Honor to the Hall of Fame coach Johnson - with a halftime ceremony tonight at AT&T Stadium that will be nationally televised on ESPN - Jimmy is sort of telling us, as it relates to framing their personal dynamic, not to bother.

"People don't really understand our relationship,'' Jimmy recently told FOX4's Mike Doocy, "for the simple reason that I don’t understand it, either. When I’m with him, it’s like we’re a couple of brothers. We are both egotistical, and we’re very proud of what we accomplished. And so sometimes things come up and you go, ‘Well, that’s not how exactly it happened’.”

But now "this'' is happening ... and as we arrive early here at AT&T Stadium to gear up, the Ring of Honor looks like it has a nice forever landing spot waiting for the coach ... (See above video.)

The "Ego Brothers'' will team up again as the meat of the sandwich for Lions at Cowboys, two playoff teams dreaming of accomplishing anything resembling what Jones and Johnson did in assembling a team that won three Super Bowls in four years.

Maybe Jimmy's presence tonight will be a boost for that Dallas cause. Under coach Mike McCarthy, Dallas is a perfect 7-0 at home at AT&T Stadium, with a winning streak that is actually 15 games long.

Could the presence of Johnson, the aura of Johnson ... or maybe even a pep talk from Johnson ... help today's Cowboys find inspiration?

We discuss that and more in our Top 10 Takes as we get you ready for Saturday night!

The Fish Report and the Fish Podcast walk you through the events of the day, from Dak stuff to Micah stuff to Lions info. ... and we're all over Jimmy stuff as well. Jump on in, Cowboys Nation!
