Five NFL teams that could win the offseason

The NFL offseason, a time of hope for all 32 teams, has begun. Some teams are better equipped than others to handle it because of draft capital, salary cap space and other factors. Here are five teams that could win the offseason:

Chicago Bears

Armed with the No. 1 overall pick and $98,656,266 in cap space (per Spotrac), the Bears are clearly poised to make noise. ESPN reported that the Bears believe that they have their franchise QB in Justin Fields, but Chicago needs help pretty much everywhere else, particularly at wide receiver. Potential first-round wide receivers include Jordan Addison (USC), Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Ohio State) and Quentin Johnston (TCU).

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have the No. 8 overall pick and $56,408,608 in cap space, per Spotrac. Could they make a play for Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson, whom NFL.com reported could be moved for a big trade offer?  A more logical move could involve the team acquiring WR Keenan Allen from the Chargers, whom The Athletic reported is a cut candidate. Expect the Falcons to shake things up this offseason. 

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are set up surprisingly well at the top of the draft (No. 5 pick from Russell Wilson trade to Denver), with a ton of money under the cap to boot ($31,343,071, per Spotrac). The team must re-sign QB Geno Smith, and it has many needs on defense. 

Could Seattle pry DE Cam Jordan from the Saints, who have salary cap issues? Look for the Seahawks to dive into the pool of free agents on defense. 

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have the No. 7 overall pick and money to spend in free agency ($17,499,005 in salary cap space, per Spotrac). They're poised to release incumbent starter Derek Carr, so a QB upgrade is in order.  

Could free-agent QB Jimmy Garoppolo, a former disciple of HC Josh McDaniels, be an ideal fit? Or could they set their sights higher and score a reunion between Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams? Rodgers is heading to a black hole -- no, not that Black Hole -- and will presumably tell us more about his future soon.

Regardless, it's clear that the Raiders will be a team to watch as the NFL offseason unfolds. 

New York Giants

Brian Daboll was recently named Coach of the Year after taking a rebuilding Giants team to the playoffs with a 9-7-1 record. The front office has plenty of money ($44,419,480, per Spotrac) under the cap and the No. 25 overall pick for Daboll to continue re-building the roster. 

The first-round draft pick position isn't ideal, but the Giants have the second-most cap space in the league. They'll need to make decisions on QB Daniel Jones and RB Saquon Barkley, both of whom are free agents and reportedly wanted back by team brass. 

This is one of the least talented rosters in the entire league, so upgrades won't be difficult to come by.
