Former San Francisco 49ers defensive back Logan Ryan announced his retirement on social media.

"Thank you to all my family, friends and teammates for the guidance and support!" Ryan wrote. "Thanks to the fans for watching! Won 2 Super Bowls and got out happy and healthy to be the best father for my children! Thanks again for 11 seasons! Cheers to what's next."

The New England Patriots made Ryan (5-11, 195) a third-round selection (No. 83 overall) out of Rutgers in 2013. He registered 13 tackles and a tackle for a loss through five game appearances (two starts) with the 49ers this past season, per Pro Football Reference.

Ryan, 33, played in all three playoff games with the Niners, amassing 12 tackles and a forced fumble.

Ryan has recorded 755 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, 26 quarterback hits, 13 sacks, 98 passes defensed, 19 interceptions, a touchdown, and 14 forced fumbles in 154 game appearances (123 starts) through his 11 NFL seasons spent with the Patriots, Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and 49ers. His pair of Super Bowl victories came during his tenure with the Patriots.
