We are in a new year for the National Football League and several players are moving around.

Contracts are getting signed left and right, and the free agency market it open. Many former standouts from the University of Alabama football program have found new NFL teams.

Raekwon Davis, a former Alabama defensive lineman, became the latest name to find a new home in the pros as a free agent. A native of Meridian, Miss., Davis signed a two-year, $14 million base deal to join the Indianapolis Colts.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news on Tuesday as Davis’ agent, Trevon Smith of Athletes First worked out the deal. Davis, a former four-star in the Crimson Tide’s 2016 signing class, was taken in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.

He recorded 129 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks in 63 career games.

Davis played for the Dolphins from 2020 to 2024.

He assisted the Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017 and has two Southeastern Conference Championship rings in 2016 and 2018. Davis was a dominant player for the Crimson Tide in 2017, posting 69 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks (team-high), two quarterback hurries, and an interception.

He collected an interception off Georgia’s quarterback Jake Fromm in thee 2018 CFP National Championship Game, helping the Tide to a 26-23 overtime victory.

It will be exciting to see what Davis does with the Colts in the AFC South.
