Former All-Pro Andrew Whitworth 'bothered' Tom Brady missed walk-through for wedding

One of the biggest talking points from Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season involves Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady missing a team walk-through to attend the wedding of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft held on Friday night.

Well-respected retired offensive tackle and two-time First-Team All-Pro Andrew Whitworth has become the latest noteworthy individual to lash out at Brady over that decision.

"I'm going to be honest. It's probably not a fun take to say, but to me, it bothered me," Whitworth explained during Monday's edition of "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" program about Brady skipping the walk-through to attend Kraft's wedding, per Matt Hladik of The Spun. "It bothered me because that's how I look up to Tom Brady...That's a pivotal day to get ready and prepare."

Brady and the Buccaneers dropped to 3-3 on the season via Sunday's 20-18 loss at the Pittsburgh Steelers that featured the seven-time Super Bowl champion completing 25-of-40 passes for 243 yards with just one touchdown. Former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and Hall-of-Fame signal-caller Terry Bradshaw criticized Brady during Fox's NFL coverage on Sunday, and radio hosts Andrew Fillipponi and Danny Parkins went so far as to question the 45-year-old's dedication to finishing the campaign during the latest episode of the "1st & Pod" podcast.

Meanwhile, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles insisted on Monday that Brady did not receive preferential treatment ahead of the weekend.

"He works as hard as anybody," Bowles added about Brady, according to Jenna Laine of ESPN. "Special treatment -- there have been a few guys that have missed meetings and some practices for some special thing -- that just doesn't get publicized because they're not him. It just kind of comes with the territory. You don't worry about it too much."

The Buccaneers play at the 1-5 Carolina Panthers in Week 7 this coming Sunday.
