Former Bengals WR believes Terrell Owens could still produce in the NFL

Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens is 48 years old and has not played a game in the NFL in over 12 years, but former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh believes he could still get it done in the NFL if given the opportunity.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh recently told TMZ Sports in an interview that if a team gave Owens 15-20 snaps per game, on third downs and in the red zone, that he would still be able to produce and catch some touchdowns.

Owens recently ran in a 40-yard dash against some Fan Controlled League wide receivers and clocked in at a very impressive 4.5 seconds.

"If you're able to run, you're able to keep and create separation," said Houshmandzadeh.

Owens spent 15 years in the NFL as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Bengals. He caught 1,078 passes for 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns in his career. He last played for the Bengals during the 2010 season. He and Houshmandzadeh were never teammates.

The closest comparable to a receiver of Owens' age actually playing and producing in the NFL would probably be Jerry Rice, who was still catching passes for the Seattle Seahawks when he was 42 years old. But Rice never stopped playing and that season was just simply a continuation of his career. He did not take more than a decade off and he was not six years older.
