Former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Devin Funchess may have just made some history.

And it wasn't on the football field.

Funchess told Brandon Robinson, better known as Scoop B, that he signed a deal with the Caribbean Storm of the Basketball League of Colombia. The signing makes him the first NFL player to transition to pro basketball.

Carolina selected Funchess in the second round of the 2015 NFL draft. He went on to amass 161 receptions for 2,223 yards and 21 touchdowns over four seasons as a Panther.

Funchess also played for the Indianapolis ColtsGreen Bay Packers and Detroit Lions
