Former Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler ironically runs into bear while hunting
Jay Cutler is arguably best known in pop culture for being the gloomy-looking husband of former "Laguna Beach" star Kristin Cavallari. For NFL fans, though, he made his name as the oft-crabby-looking quarterback of the Chicago Bears from 2009-16.
In fact, as far as the Bears are concerned, there's a great case to be made that he's the best quarterback in franchise history. He still leads the franchise in passing yardage (23,443 yards) and passing touchdowns (154).
That makes the below picture from Cutler's Instagram somewhat ironic. Here's Cutler posing with an actual bear he shot and killed while hunting in Montana. Viewer discretion should be taken for those uncomfortable with such images.
Cutler has apparently developed into an avid sportsman during his time away from football. One look at his Instagram shows all sorts of hunting activity. He has also started a beer company, which is totally on-brand Jay Cutler.
Cutler was taken No. 11 overall in the 2006 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos before being traded to the Bears in a blockbuster that sent quarterback Kyle Orton and three draft picks (including two first-round selections) back to Denver.
He went on to throw 27 touchdowns with 26 interceptions in his first season in Chicago. Cutler was never really able to kick the interception bug over eight seasons. The fact that he iis arguably the greatest quarterback in Bears' history simply highlights how inept Chicago has been at the position over the years.
Cutler had a season with the Miami Dolphins in 2017, but he will always be remembered as a Bear.
He threw 227 career touchdowns compared to 160 interceptions.
