On Monday, one former Houston Texan retired from the NFL.

The Texans may not be a franchise with a ton of history, as they are one of the newer franchises in the league, but they do honor everyone who has played for the franchise. They hold being an alumni very closely to them.

So, it's pretty important that one former player retired, even though he was with the team for a year and didn't actually play in any games.

On January 19, after nine years, former Texans offensive lineman James Ferentz retired from the NFL. As a practice squad player, he was with the Houston Texans to start his career in 2014, from May 14 to September 5, 2015.

After that, he went on to play for the Denver Broncos for two years and then the New England Patriots for six years. He played 61 games during his NFL career.

On Monday, he made a post on Instagram announcing his retirement.

He didn't play for the Texans, but I think the organization is incredibly grateful for his time with the team.
