Former Jaguars LB Telvin Smith arrested, charged with unlawful sexual activity with minors
On Wednesday afternoon, ESPN's Michael DiRocco confirmed that former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith has been arrested in Jacksonville.
Per DiRocco, the charges are disturbing:
The Jaguars were unable to comment on the matter:
Jacksonville drafted Smith out of Florida State in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He made 76 total regular-season appearances for the club through the 2018 campaign, and he was named to the 2018 Pro Bowl squad as a replacement.
In November 2016, Smith's brother, Brian Keith Moore, was shot to death.
As Kevin Patra of NFL.com wrote, the Jaguars placed Smith on the reserve/retired list in July 2019 after he had previously claimed he was sitting the season out to "get (his) world in order."
Per John Reid of the Florida Times-Union, Jaguars players expressed concern for Smith last November after police led him away from his home in handcuffs.
