Former NFL defensive lineman Louis Nix reported missing

Former NFL defensive lineman Louis Nix has been reported missing in Florida.

Ben Becker of ActionNewsJax.com posted the plea from Nix's mother, who says she hasn't heard from her son in several days, which is unusual for him. Nix's mother also said she believes the former Houston Texans' third-round pick is in danger.

Nix was shot in December while putting air in the tires of his car. The bullet entered his lung. Although she believes her son is in danger, Nix's mother told Becker she doesn't believe the current situation is related to the shooting.

The former Texan also played for the New York Giants, Washington Football Team and Jacksonville Jaguars. He played college football at Notre Dame.
