The Dallas Cowboys have gotten off to a scorching start this season, routing both the New York Giants and the New York Jets over their first two games.

The Cowboys have outscored their opponents by a whopping 60-point margin, whipping the Giants 40-0 and then hammering the Jets 30-10.

Dallas has utilized a dominant defense to stifle opposing offenses, ranking No. 1 in the NFL by allowing only 193 yards per game thus far.

While it’s still very early on in the season, it’s hard to ignore how dominant the Cowboys have looked, and former NFL wide receiver and current Fox Sports analyst James Jones sees Dallas as a Super Bowl favorite at the moment.

Jones, who won a Super Bowl himself with the Green Bay Packers over a decade ago, says that injuries are the only thing that can hold the Cowboys back from capturing their first Super Bowl title since the 1995-96 campaign.

Of course, we have seen this song and dance with Dallas before in recent years.

Remember: in 2019, the Cowboys got off to a red-hot 3-0 start before ultimately dropping their next three games and missing the playoffs entirely.

Dallas also looked impressive in both 2021 and 2022, reeling off 12 wins in both seasons. However, the Cowboys ultimately fell to the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs both times.

Since last winning the Super Bowl 28 years ago, Dallas has yet to even make it back to the NFC Championship Game and has collected a mere five postseason wins in total over that span.

That being said, one of these years, the Cowboys are going to shake off their demons and win a championship. Could this be the year that occurs?

Dallas will look to improve to 3-0 when it heads on the road to battle the struggling Arizona Cardinals this Sunday.
