Despite being set to head to Ohio State for the 2024 season, it seems Bill O'Brien may be staying local.

O'Brien served as the Patriots offensive coordinator during this past season, but the offensive struggles led to many questioning whether he will remain. And that was despite him only being in New England for one season. But it appears he made the decision in the end.

It was reported in January that O'Brien was set to take the job as Ohio State's new offensive coordinator, returning to his college roots. And the team even made it official, posting on their official account on X, formerly known as Twitter.

But things might be changing once again. And the call to be a head coach was too much for O'Brien to ignore.

O'Brien's name has come up in many rumors over the past two days when speaking about the head coach vacancy at Boston College.

And according to the New England Football Journal's Kevin Stone, they aren't just rumors. Instead, they are a real possibility.

Stone reports that O'Brien wants the job and Boston College wants him to take over, but they are working to settle all the other necessary parts.

Jeff Hafley has served as the head coach at Boston College for the last four years, but left earlier this week to become the defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers

So since there is mutual interest, let's see if a deal can get done. And then O'Brien will be trading in Gillette Stadium in Foxborough for Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill.
