Former Patriots teammate reveals Tom Brady's emotional reaction to 'Deflategate'

Nine years after the infamous 'Deflategate,' NFL fans can revisit that infamous moment that stained Tom Brady's career. The legendary quarterback was on his way to another Super Bowl, but first, he had to defeat Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts.

Talking on the Patriots' documentary 'The Dynasty,' former teammate Darrelle Revis recalled Tom Brady's reaction to the accusations that he ordered the deliberate deflation of footballs against the Colts.

“When the 'Deflategate' happened, Tom was the headliner of the whole situation. He addressed us as a team. You can tell he was distraught. He said, ‘This is something I wouldn’t do. I would not ruin this season for us. The allegations are false.’ He was actually bawling his eyes out in front of us," Revis said via Patriots reporter Mike Kadlick

After that season, former Colts general manager Ryan Grigson brought this to the NFL's attention, sharing his suspicions about the Patriots using underinflated footballs. The league launched an investigation, ultimately suspending Brady.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion was suspended for the first four games of the following season after a big back-and-forth between the player and the NFL.

Brady was coming off another Super Bowl win when 'Deflategate' became a huge scandal. The Patriots dramatically defeated the Seattle Seahawks with a last-second interception in the red zone in Super Bowl XLIX.

Plenty of water has gone under the bridge, yet people keep talking about this infamous moment in the Patriots dynasty. Brady would win three more championships after that moment, adding to his legacy and confirming he's the greatest quarterback of all time in the eyes of many.
