Former Pro Bowl WR wants invite to 'Manningcast'

Former Pro Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday that he wants to appear on ESPN's "Manningcast."

Jackson's request came after news broke that retired NFL quarterback legends (and brothers) Eli and Peyton Manning would be adding a third co-host this season.

The three-time Pro Bowler never played on the same team as either star signal-caller but spent much of his career tormenting the defense of Eli Manning's New York Giants as an in-division rival.

Jackson was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft and played eight seasons (across two stints) with the franchise while suiting up for the Washington then-Redskins for three years.

The 36-year speedster spent the 2022 season with the Baltimore Ravens, posting career lows in receptions (nine) and receiving yards (153) across seven games while failing to score a touchdown for the first team since he joined the NFL. Jackson was released by the Ravens in January and is still a free agent.

In July, he indicated on social media that he hadn't yet retired and was hoping to eventually do so with the Eagles.

Jackson is first among active players in yards per reception across his career (17.6) and third in receiving yards (11,263). He's also tied for first among active players in career punt returns for a touchdown with four.
