Former Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson dies in car accident
The sports world has experienced yet another loss in 2020.
Former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has died in a car accident, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 36-year-old was Tennessee State University's quarterbacks coach after spending nine years in the NFL between the Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills.
Jackson went 17-17 in his NFL career with a 59.6 completion percentage, 7,263 yards, 39 touchdowns and 35 interceptions. He's also a Super Bowl champion -- he backed up Russell Wilson in Super Bowl XLVIII in a 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos.
Wilson expressed his condolences to Jackson's family after hearing the news.
The death of Jackson comes just days after Edmonton Oilers forward Colby Cave died after suffering a brain bleed.
If the death of athletes and the coronavirus pandemic is any indication of how the rest of 2020 will go, then many will be hoping we can flash forward to 2021.
