Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Antonio Brown is not one to shy away from a beef. As a result, he tends to be a person that makes enemies rather easily. That seems to be the case with the current beef going on between Brown and Barstool Sports.

What has been going on between Brown and Barstool? Who started it? Is this the whole story? Read below to find out.

Antonio Brown Fires Back at Barstool

Yesterday, Jerry Thornton of Barstool Sports published this article discussing Antonio Brown. Thornton went on to call Brown the “worst human being alive.” The entire article seemed to be using every eloquent word in the dictionary to explain why Thornton thinks Brown is such a bad person.

As expected, Brown did not go quietly. This morning, he tweeted this graphic as a response to Thornton’s article from yesterday. Brown captioned this using the following:

“Dave Portnoy and his minions writing articles to defend TB #CTESPN”

Brown certainly triggered Barstool Sports with this tweet. Immediately after this was posted, Barstool Sports wrote a piece slamming him.

Tom Brady and Gisele the Cause of the Beef?

A big reason why Brown and Thornton are firing shots at each other is something involving former NFL QB Tom Brady and his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen. Rumors started to spread that Gisele was cheating on Brady while the two were still married. Brown stirred the pot by posting pictures of him and Gisele hugging each other.

This seemed to inspire Thornton to write the article that he did. Thornton reminded the public that Brady welcomed Brown into his own home when no other team in the NFL wanted to touch him. The two of them also went on to win a Super Bowl title together.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Deflection?

Brown could not help the timing of this hit piece by Barstool Sports. In his response to it, he mentioned that Barstool seemed to be protecting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Well, this would be a good time for some deflection for that organization.

The reason why is the NFLPA report cards came out yesterday. The Buccaneers performed notably badly on those report cards. Owner Joel Glazer ranked just 29th in willingness to invest in the team. This inspired the Buccaneers to release a public statement addressing the report cards from the NFLPA.

There are a lot of moving pieces to this story. While this was perhaps not unexpected for Brown to stir the pot, there was still a response from Barstool that fueled the fire. Now, we will have to see how long this goes on and how nasty things may get between both sides.
