Former Vikings DT Kevin Williams should be in the Hall of Fame

Minnesota Vikings fans have been pushing for this motion for the last seven years. The former first-round pick in 2003 was drafted ninth overall by Minnesota and would go on to play for the Vikings for 11 seasons. He didn't create just a Minnesota Vikings Hall of Fame career. He created a Pro Football Hall of Fame career, especially in the Twin Cities.

Kevin Williams would go on to earn five First-Team All-Pro nods and make six Pro Bowl appearances in his 11-year stint in Minnesota. He would record at least five sacks in six of his 11 seasons with the Vikings, including two seasons with 10+ sacks. He started each of the 171 career games that he played in for the Vikings. His best season came in 2004 when he recorded career-highs in tackles (70), sacks (11.5), and fumble recoveries (3). He recorded 60 sacks, 84 quarterback hits, over 460 tackles and over 100 tackles for loss in his Vikings career. His 6-foot-5, 310-pound frame allowed him to be powerful in between gaps and beat double-teams. He formed an All-Pro trio from 2008-12 with defensive tackle Pat Williams and edge-rusher Jared Allen.

The Vikings had one of the premiere pass-rushes in the league for over a half-decade thanks to players like Kevin Williams. The former Oklahoma State star would go on to play for the Seahawks in 2014 and the New Orleans Saints in 2015 before hanging up his cleats at the age of 35. Any player who makes at least five All-Pro teams while spending over a decade with one team definitely gives themselves a chance at Canton, Ohio. Williams put together a very great career and deserves his claim to football immortality forever.
