R unning back Frank Gore had most of his success with the San Francisco 49ers.
The NFC West squad drafted him in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft, and he played there for his first ten seasons.
As part of the Niners backfield, Gore became Second-Team All-Pro in 2006 and made five Pro Bowls from 2006 to 2013.
He also played in Super Bowl XLVII with the 49ers but lost to the Baltimore Ravens.
After ten seasons, Gore left the 49ers to join the Indianapolis Colts.
He also had stints with the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and New York Jets.
But after 16 seasons in the league, the former Miami Hurricane will hang up his cleats for good after signing a one-day contract with the team that drafted him.
Aside from his longevity, his career will forever be marked by an impressive feat.
That number translates to 1,000 yards for every season he played.
That’s not easy to pull off because rushing yards are the last thing running backs think of on every snap.
All they care about is to execute their opportunities well to gain as many yards possible.
Likewise, they don’t care about their numbers if the team constantly wins.

Gore will retire where he started with the 49ers.
But aside from bidding farewell to the fans and the organization, he gets to pass the baton to the next generation of backfield talent.
