Game-worn Andy Reid face shield, hat displayed in Hall of Fame

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid went viral back in early September when he couldn't prevent his coronavirus-related face shield from fogging up during what became a double-digit win over the Houston Texans:

A similar item is now on display for the world to see.

On Monday, the Pro Football Hall of Fame confirmed that a game-worn hat and face shield used by Reid during the season are showcased in Canton. Odds are this isn't the exact shield Reid wore versus Houston on Sept. 10, though, as the HOF explained the artifacts are from a victory over the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 8 that propelled Reid into fifth place on the all-time NFL coaching wins list.

Reid eventually switched to a Chiefs-themed face mask that often made for an unflattering look:

Safety was more important than fashion for football coaches throughout the 2020 campaign, and the important thing is that Reid avoided testing positive for COVID-19 en route to leading the Chiefs to the Super Bowl for the second consecutive year.

Hopefully, Reid and others won't have to wear masks on the sidelines during games next fall.
