Former Ohio State star Garrett Wilson had to follow through on a bet on Friday, which is why the wide receiver attended a press conference in – of all things – a Michigan hoodie. Wilson and former Buckeyes tight end Jeremy Ruckert lost a bet to Jets reporter and apparent Michigan fan Caroline Hendershot on the big game versus the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in the nation.

Hendershot, a former rower at Michigan, won the bet as the Wolverines took down Ohio State 30-24 to end the regular season. Michigan now moves on to the Big Ten Championship game on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.

“I lost a few bets, I lost to Caroline. Me and Ruckert are in some Michigan gear today and that’s how it should be, but next year it ain’t going to be this way,” Wilson promised. “She’s had to deal with some losing seasons, too, so that’s how it goes. Rivalry.”

“It hurts right now,” Wilson added. “I’m trying to cover (the logo) up a little bit. It hurts, I can’t lie. I’ve never had these colors on before, they don’t feel good on me, and they probably don’t look good. But I lost a bet, I’m a man of my word so I’ve got to put it on.”

The two Buckeyes alums on the Jets weren’t the only ones wagering on their alma mater in the rivalry game.

Tom Brady jokingly bets SB ring on Michigan

On his Let’s Go Podcast leading up to the game, former Wolverines quarterback Tom Brady hosted Buckeyes first-round draft pick C.J. Stroud. He posed to the rookie a very high-stakes bet on their alma maters.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, bet one of his many championship rings on the Wolverines taking down No. 2 Ohio State – even without head coach Jim Harbaugh on the sidelines.

“Alright so, we got a bet,” Brady said. “So, if Ohio State wins . . . you get one of my Super Bowl rings. And if Michigan beats Ohio State, then you got to give me all your youth, your agility, your time in the 40 and all your future years in the NFL. How about that?”

“That’s a bet,” Stroud said.

After the Wolverines won, Brady posted on social media: “Smart move not taking the bet @CJ7STROUD. At least you keep the rocket arm and 4.4 40 time.” Stroud, clearly very locked in to the run he’s on with the Texans, didn’t publicly respond.
