Geno Stone is the newest ballhawk in the Bengals secondary and he met with the media after signing his new deal in Cincinnati.

Stone was one of the best interception artists in the sport last season (seven picks, second in the NFL), and he's ready to bring that to Lou Anarumo's unit.

"I think of myself as a ballhawk," Stone said. "Watching their film already. I see myself fitting this defense really well. I see myself down in the box. I see myself doing a bunch of different things, but I see myself fitting this defense really well."

Cincinnati has put a premium on team leadership this decade and Ztone oozes that.

"Main thing was to come in and be a communicator," Stone said about discussions surrounding his role. "Knowing the passing game and just be a leader, and that's what I plan on being. That's what I've been trying to do my whole career. Be a leader, be a communicator on the field. A defense that's obnoxious is great. You know, everyone's on the same page and if you're all wrong, you're all right. So that's the main thing. I want to be a leader on the field and a leader in the locker room."

Stone figures to be one of the two starting safeties with Vonn Bell and Jordan Battle hashing things out on the other side of the formation. The newest Bengal has a prior relationship with Bell from meeting at an Ohio State Football camp and gets to reunite on the same team in Cincinnati
