Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens did not hide his frustrations Thursday in his team’s loss to the New England Patriots.
The Patriots won just their third game of the season in a 21-18 affair against the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Pickens got a lot of face time throughout the “Thursday Night Football” broadcast. However, the second-year wideout was featured more for his visible dissatisfaction rather than any highlight catches.
Pickens also went viral on social media for appearing dejected in the end zone after a failed Steelers offensive play.
The Steelers wide receiver may have felt he was being underutilized, especially early in the contest. The broadcast caught him taking at least one play off in apparent protest.
The 22-year-old was targeted just twice in the first half. One resulted in an interception. The other was for a four-yard gain.
The Steelers also seemingly botched their final offensive play of the game with a play call that left Al Michaels confused (video here).
Pickens finished with five catches for 19 yards. Diontae Johnson led the team with 57 receiving yards on three catches.
