It had been a moment to remember when Mecole Hardman Jr., who recently became a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs, unfolded his brief time at the New York Jets that made him leave them in the middle of the season. The wide receiver said a lot of things, but what came out highlighted was his harsh remark on the Jets’ offense as “indisciplined.”

But looks like Thomas Morstead has a fitting reply to the Chiefs WR as he hits him back through a social media post on Wednesday. Morstead may have been considering going into free agency this offseason, but it doesn’t mean he’ll hear anything about the Jets.

Morstead tweeted defending his team, the Jets against Hardman’s harsh words:

Be careful getting information from disgruntled former employees. Getting beaten out by a rookie after being guaranteed millions of dollars is tough to deal with. You have to earn it every year. Thomas Morstead wrote on X

Hardman began the 2023 season with the Jets but after playing just six games, he was traded back to the Chiefs, after talking to GM Brett Veach and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The receiver’s difference with the Jets began when Aaron Rodgers went into recovery from a torn Achilles and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett failed to handle the situation.

Hardman said in his recent appearance on “The Pivot” podcast.

It’s the lies and the way they handled me. I didn’t like it at all . Mecole Hardman Jr. said

Is Thomas Morstead leaving the Jets?

This coming March, Morstead will be turning 38 years old and heading into his 16th season in the league. Since his draft in 2009, he has been loyal to only one team and that’s the Jets. Aside from the free agency rumors, he is highly interested in going another season with the Jets, ahead of the 2024 offseason.
