The Carolina Panthers, who fired their general manager Scott Fitterer following their disastrous 2023 season, are reportedly the first team to seek permission to interview New York Giants assistant general manager Brandon Brown, having done so on Monday.

Now, according to the NFL Network, a second team that has interest in Brown is the Los Angeles Chargers, who fired both general manager Tom Telesco and head coach Brandon Staley last month after the Chargers were destroyed by the Las Vegas Raiders 63-21.

Brown was hired by Giants general manager Joe Schoen in 2022 after spending five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he was the team's director of player personnel in 2021, tasked with overseeing the pro scouting department.

Before joining the Eagles, he was with the Colts for two seasons as an advance scout (2016) and scouting assistant (2015), his first full-time scouting job after a brief stint with Boston College and as a pro personnel intern in the Jets' training camp in 2012.

Brown has taken part in the Ozzie Newsome General Manager Forum. He was also invited to participate in the Front Office & General Manager Accelerator program last month.

Giants Sign 10 to Reserve/Futures Contracts

As expected, the New York Giants signed ten players who had been on their practice squad to reserve/futures contracts on Monday.

The players are running back Deon Jackson, wide receiver Dennis Houston, tackles Yodny Cajuste and Joshua Miles, guard Jalen Mayfield, defensive tackle Ryder Anderson, linebackers Dyontae Johnson and Jeremiah Martin, and defensive backs Kaleb Hayes and Stantley Thomas-Oliver.
