Giants' Barkley, Golladay, Toney all miss practice ahead of Panthers game

At least fans of the New York Giants can say they're accustomed to seeing, hearing and reading bad news about Big Blue this fall.

Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper notes that New York star running back Saquon Barkley (ankle), along with wide receivers Kenny Golladay (knee) and rookie Kadarius Toney (ankle), all missed Thursday's practice, the second consecutive day the offensive trio were non-participants for a session because of their setbacks. All three are trending in the wrong direction ahead of Sunday's matchup against the 3-3 Carolina Panthers.

Both Barkley and Golladay were unavailable for this past Sunday's blowout home loss to the Los Angeles Rams due to the issues they encountered against the Dallas Cowboys the previous weekend, and Toney aggravated his ankle versus the Rams.

These updates came after the Giants placed starting left tackle Andrew Thomas on injured reserve because of an ankle problem earlier in the week.

Per ESPN stats, Toney now leads the Giants with 317 receiving yards and is second with 23 catches and 30 targets. Golladay is third with 17 receptions and 282 receiving yards. Barkley, meanwhile, has added 195 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 54 attempts with 14 catches for 130 yards and another score.

The Giants have dropped five of their first six games this season and could be headed toward a massive fire sale ahead of the Nov. 2 trade deadline depending on what occurs over the next two weeks.
