Giants' Daniel Jones on pace to set season record for game-winning drives?

There remain plenty of questions about if Daniel Jones can prove to be the long-term answer at quarterback for the New York Giants, but the fourth-year pro undeniably deserves credit for helping the team reach a 6-1 record before Halloween.

For a piece published Monday, Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports explained that Jones' five game-winning drives this season is the most notched by any signal-caller through seven games since 1950. To compare, no other quarterback had more than three game-winning drives for the campaign ahead of the Week 7 "Monday Night Football" contest.

"Jones is on pace for 12 game-winning drives this season, which would shatter the single-season record of eight by Matthew Stafford in 2016," Kerr added.

Kerr also pointed out that Jones is 28th with a 58.4 passer rating in the fourth quarter of one-score games this season and has connected on 20-of-33 passes for 166 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in such situations.

ESPN stats show that Jones began Monday 14th among eligible quarterbacks with an overall passer rating of 90.8 for the campaign. The 25-year-old was sixth with a 62.6 total QBR, 12th with a 66.7% completion percentage, and 23rd with 1,223 passing yards. He's thrown for six touchdowns and two interceptions and is second behind only Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens among quarterbacks with 343 rushing yards. Jones has also contributed three rushing scores.

The Giants next play at the 4-3 Seattle Seahawks this coming Sunday before Big Blue enjoys its bye week.
