Due to injury, it has been a frustrating second year for talented New York Giants edge rusher, Azeez Ojulari.

After an exciting rookie year that included eight sacks, Ojulari has been sidelined by injury for nine games so far this season for the Giants.

He has played in just two games, Weeks 3 and 4, and over 60 snaps, had a sack and forced fumble.

Now, Ojulari is set to return for a 7-4 Giants football team that needs any help it can trying to get in the playoffs.

Giants’ Wink Martindale expresses excitement on Azeez Ojulari:

Giants first-year defensive coordinator Wink Martindale was asked about the significance of Ojulari’s return to the Giants’ defense. Martindale stated that the unit has missed him “A lot. It sounds like a Hallmark card, doesn’t it? I’ve missed you a lot,” per Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.

Hopefully, now, Ojulari stays healthy, and he and Kayvon Thibodeaux can form the premier edge rush duo the young players have to potential to be. Pair their development with the way the interior led by Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams are playing, and the Giants have a front-four Martindale can consistently wreak havoc with.

Ojulari recently summed this year up to date as “tough” but shared he is “ready” to get back out there and help the Giants.

He is a talented, young 22-year-old pass rusher. Ojulari has the speed and bend to be a force on the outside for the Giants up front. It is a huge added bonus for this playoff-hopeful football team to get a player of Ojulari’s caliber added into the fold at this later point in the season.
