Giants let season ticket holders skip 2020 season due to pandemic

New York Giants season-ticket holders won't be on the hook for the 2020 NFL campaign, currently scheduled to go on as planned, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News shared an email sent by the Giants informing fans that they can pass on buying tickets for this fall and resume plans for the 2021 season:

As Jimmy Golen wrote for the Association Press (h/t Yahoo Sports) over the weekend, the New England Patriots have provided at-risk ticket holders with the opportunity to bypass purchases for 2020 without losing their seats beyond the upcoming season.

Currently, the Kansas City Chiefs are scheduled to begin their Super Bowl title defense by kicking the season off with a home game versus the Houston Texans on September 10.

However, multiple reports have emerged that some teams are campaigning behind the scenes to postpone the campaign's start to the middle of October because of the uncontrolled virus outbreak.

Recently, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, recommended the NFL adopt a "bubble" format to complete the season. Major League Soccer, the NHL, and NBA are all placing teams at temporary hub sites to return to play in July.
