The New York Giants put their cutlet production on hold during Monday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Tommy DeVito, an undrafted rookie out of Illinois, was making his sixth straight start for the Giants on Monday. He led them to three wins during that span.

However, DeVito struggled to move the ball against the Eagles. He had gone 9-for-16 for 55 yards in the first half and ran the ball once for five yards. The Giants only scored three points in the first half.

After the Giants got the ball in the second half, it was Tyrod Taylor who entered the game with the offense. The Giants took advantage of a short field following a turnover and scored a touchdown to make it 20-10. Taylor handed off to Saquon Barkley three straight times, resulting in the TD.

The Giants’ offense hadn’t done anything under DeVito in the first half, so it seemed like coach Brian Daboll was hoping Taylor could get the team back into the game.

Monday marked the second straight game where “Tommy Cutlets” had struggled. The undrafted rookie passed for 177 yards in a 24-6 loss to the Saints in Week 15.

Taylor had started three games for the Giants this season entering the Week 16 game. He suffered a rib injury in Week 8, which gave DeVito the opportunity to play.
