Giants to induct QB Eli Manning into Ring of Honor, retire No. 10 jersey Sept. 26

Eli Manning retired in January 2020 as the greatest quarterback in the history of the New York Giants. A two-time Super Bowl Most Valuable Player, he may go down as the most popular figure ever associated with the franchise.

On Monday, the Giants announced they will officially induct Manning into their Ring of Honor and retire his No. 10 jersey during a halftime ceremony held when Big Blue hosts the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 26. The franchise added they've brought Manning back to serve in a business operations and fan engagement ambassadorial role.

"It's a great honor and just an unbelievable feeling," Manning said of being the 43rd individual added to the Giants' Ring of Honor. "I don't know what the emotions will be that day. I know they'll be high, though. To have that feeling and that final goodbye, a true goodbye to the fans, and to thank them for supporting me during my 16 seasons here, it's going to be special. I think it's an opportunity for me to thank everybody here – teammates, coaches and the organization – for believing in me, for bringing me to New York and for giving me a chance to have success. It'll be an awesome day to be here and a great celebration."

Manning holds over 20 franchise records and was the face of New York football for over a decade. While he received a standing ovation following his last start in December 2019, September's celebration will give fans one final chance to salute their hero inside a stadium that's hopefully filled to capacity.
