The New York Giants announced they have waived kicker Cade York from their 53-an roster.

York was originally a fourth-round pick by the Browns in 2022 but was cut after the 2023 preseason. York earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors as a rookie in his first professional game. He finished his rookie season converting 35 of 37 extra-point attempts and 24 of 32 field goal attempts.

Before signing with the Giants, he was with the Titans practice squad.

With the move, the Giants are expected to sign veteran Randy Bullock to the 53-man roster. Bullock, who has been in the NFL since 2013, has had stints with the Texans, Jets, Engals, and Steelers and was also part of the Giants in 2016.

The Giants have used up their three practice squad elevations on Bullock, so a move to the roster always seemed to be in the cards once the coaches kept choosing him over York. York, a healthy scratch since joining the Giants, will likely be signed to the Giants' practice squad if he clears waivers.

The Giants had signed both Bullock and York within a day of each other after kicker Graham Gano opted to have season-ending surgery on his left knee.

Since joining the Giants, the 33-year-old Bullock has made both his field goal attempts and all six of his PATs.
