GM Brian Gutekunst: Packers 'really like' current WRs, not looking to add veteran

The Green Bay Packers appear to have everything they need to attempt a Super Bowl run. That includes a receiving corps that is really liked by general manager Brian Gutekunst and Packers brass.

"I don't think, right now, we're really looking to add anything," Gutekunst said about possibly going after a veteran receiver Wednesday." I really like the group that we have...We want to give them the opportunity to go out there and see if they can do it."

This news comes a day after the Packers were reportedly interested in veteran free agent Julio Jones, who ended up signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Packers have a very interesting wide receiver corps moving into 2022. They have veterans Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard and Sammy Watkins leading the room. Second-year receiver Amari Rodgers is looking for an improved sophomore season. Rookies Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure are looking to make an impact, too.

The Packers don't necessarily have an All-Pro receiver on paper, yet. They have size (Allen Lazard and Christian Watson are both at least 6-foot-4). Veterans like Cobb and Watkins will be very trusty receivers for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Doubs and Toure could be big-play threats down the field, too. Although the Packers don't have any massive names in that group, they are all very underrated players who could help take this team to the promise land in February.
