While the Green Bay Packers are expected to explore their edge-rush options in free agency and the NFL Draft, they expect to have one key performer back from injury come the fall.

While addressing the media at the NFL Combine, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst provided an update on EDGE Rashan Gary's ongoing rehab from a torn ACL.

“He’s going to attack this thing like he plays. (Head athletic trainer Bryan Engel) and his guys have been in constant communication with him," Gutekunst said, adding that the team expects a full recovery or close to it ahead of preseason camp. He said that the Packers are "very optimistic" about Gary's progress.

Through nine games prior to sustaining injury last season, Gary had 6.0 sacks and additionally logged a forced fumble, 32 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and 12 quarterback hits.

Gary's availability for the first week of the 2023-24 NFL regular season will be determined as the weather warms.
