Greg Olsen announces retirement from NFL after 14 seasons

At 35 years old, Greg Olsen is hanging up the cleats.

The three-time Pro Bowl tight end announced his retirement from the NFL on Fox's pregame show ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship Game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers.

Olsen ends his career ranked fifth in NFL history for receiving yards (8,683) and receptions (742) among tight ends. He also ranks eighth among tight ends with 60 career touchdowns.

The Chicago Bears drafted the New Jersey native in 2007. He spent four seasons with the franchise before being traded to the Carolina Panthers in 2011. Olsen spent nine seasons with the Panthers before playing the 2020 season with the Seattle Seahawks.

Olsen is Carolina's all-time leader in receiving yards (6,463) and receptions (524) by a tight end. He is set to join Fox full-time in retirement.
