Greg Olsen: Tom Brady working Super Bowl broadcast 'has not been brought up'

There's currently no indication Fox is thinking about replacing analyst Greg Olsen with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady for its Super Bowl LVII coverage.

For a piece published Tuesday, Olsen told Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports that the subject of Brady serving in some role for Fox's Super Bowl LVII television broadcast "has not been brought up."

After it was learned this past offseason that Brady agreed to a 10-year deal reportedly worth $375M to eventually take Olsen's place as Fox's lead NFL analyst, it was said that the 45-year-old could work as a studio personality or even in the broadcast booth for Super Bowl LVII if he isn't playing in the game.

McCarthy reported in October that Fox "definitely" wants Brady to be part of its Super Bowl coverage unless he's starting for the Buccaneers that Sunday.

As things stand today, Olsen and play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt are scheduled to be a two-man crew for Fox's broadcast of the championship contest.

"If you’re asking me, I think Kevin and I have shown that we can handle a game on any stage – on any day," Olsen told McCarthy. "We just did it on Thanksgiving. We’ll do it again around Christmas. And obviously throughout the [NFL] Playoffs. So whatever decision they make. Obviously, the bosses get paid a lot to make hard decisions. You have to obviously do what your bosses decide. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there. But as of now, I anticipate Kevin and I, the two of us, with Erin [Andrews] and Tom [Rinaldi] down on the sidelines, the four of us, broadcasting the Super Bowl in February in Arizona. Until I’m told otherwise, that’s how we’re proceeding."

Brady has not publicly confirmed he's planning on retiring from playing after this season to head to Fox potentially as soon as this winter. Fox's Sean Payton and ESPN's Joe Buck are among noteworthy media members who have expressed doubt Brady will call any action for Fox next year.
