The New York Jets have made significant moves to address their roster needs earlier this offseason.

However, despite the promising addition of Tyron Smith to bolster their struggling offensive line, questions linger about his durability at this stage of his career.

ESPN analyst and dedicated Jets supporter, Mike Greenberg, advocates for the team to consider adding another offensive lineman with their No. 10 pick, recognizing the importance of fortifying their protection upfront.

Contrarily, former NFL quarterback EJ Manuel offers a different perspective.

During a recent appearance on Get Up, Manuel asserted that selecting Brock Bowers at No. 10 would present the Jets with their best opportunity to contend for a Super Bowl immediately.

Manuel argues that while protection remains a concern, elite talents like Bowers are rare and could make a substantial impact on the team’s offensive dynamics.

Both viewpoints hold merit. Bowers has maintained his status as the premier tight end prospect for consecutive years, showcasing exceptional route-running skills that could complement Aaron Rodgers’ passing game seamlessly.

However, it’s undeniable that even the most talented quarterback, including Rodgers, struggles without adequate protection from their offensive line.

In some scenarios, prioritizing the best available player is imperative, allowing teams to address other needs later in the draft. Alternatively, teams can explore trade opportunities in the offseason or during the season to bolster their roster. Yet, the chance to secure an elite prospect like Bowers when a Super Bowl-contending team is on the clock is a rare opportunity that shouldn’t be overlooked.
