The Houston Texans Laremy Tunsil has been one of the few bright spots for the team in the past couple of years. It isn’t often that a rebuilding team has one of the best left tackles in the game. The team is now looking to compete in the near future. Head coach DeMeco Ryans was a splash hire. The team drafted CJ Stroud and Will Anderson Jr. in the NFL Draft. They have the pieces to win some games even this year. Tunsil is excited about all of the new pieces.

Houston Texans Laremy Tunsil Excited About Team

Tunsil is most excited about Ryans as a head coach. He has come in a transformed the culture of the locker room and the star left tackle is taking notice. He talked about it on the Pat McAfee Show.

“It’s a whole new vibe, man. (Coach) DeMeco (Ryans) came in with that energy he brought from San Fran and just changed the whole vibe around the building, and that’s something that we needed, especially since these last past three years we’ve been in a rut. So DeMeco comes in the building, he brought some new coaches, we’ve got some new players. Man, it’s just a whole new vibe that’s in that building. It feels great to be there.”

After three coaches in three years, Tunsil and many others within the organization are hoping that Ryans can bring some much need stability to the head coaching position.

Outlook For 2023

The Texans need to be competitive in 2023. In order to get Anderson Jr., they had to trade next year’s first-round pick. If the team is horrible again, the Arizona Cardinals will get a premium pick and not the Texans. The good news is that their division is easily the worst in the AFC. Games against the Colts and Titans feel winnable. It all comes down to Stroud. If he can have a great rookie season, it will really help to put some wins on the board.

Laremy Tunsil is excited about the direction of the Houston Texans. Fans should be excited too as for the first time in a while things are looking up.
