The Detroit Lions made another addition at cornerback through free agency on Tuesday, agreeing to a contract with Amik Robertson.

The defender comes to Detroit after four seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. To learn more about Robertson, Raiders Today beat writer Hondo Carpenter answered five questions from All Lions.

1.) What are Lions getting in cornerback Amik Robertson?

CarpenterHe is a playmaking tough and gritty corner who makes plays. He will take some risks, and the joke was that anytime he gets burned, you know an interception is coming. He is a terrific person in the locker room, loved by teammates and fans.

2.) What are his strengths and weaknesses?

CarpenterNot many corners are aggressive like a linebacker and fearless with their bodies, but he is. He is a cowboy who loves riding horses, and that shows in his play because he is not a liability in the running game. He is a ballhawk who just finds the football.

Subsequently, that aggression can cost him, and he gives up a play, but he is a gamer.

3.) Aaron Glenn loves versatile, physical defensive backs. How reliable is his tackling, and can he deliver the big hit?

CarpenterHe IS all of that. He can step into the box like a safety, and punish running backs, and also has the speed, versatility and physicality to blitz.

4.) What is best way Glenn can deploy Robertson?

CarpenterUnderstanding that giving up a big play isn’t the end of the world when he gets the chance to redeem it, he lets him attack. Whether it is 60 yards downfield on a bomb or on a blitz, his mentality is attack, attack, attack.

5.) How would you describe his run with the Raiders?

CarpenterHomegrown talent beloved by his teammates. One of the top three most popular players in the locker room, loved by everyone. He isn’t a CB1, but what he is, is a super person and player that works like a dog and makes plays.
