How Joe Burrow is 'elite' behind closed doors

By now, everyone knows how good Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow is. What makes him so great is the work he puts in when nobody is watching.

Bengals strength and conditioning coach Joey Boese was asked how Burrow looks following his fourth offseason in the NFL.

"He's in great shape. Look at him," Boese said. "There's a reason for that. Because the guy is putting in the work when no one is watching. Millions of people never see it because he's not videotaping and posting everything he does. He's a superstar. One of the most elite quarterbacks in the game. But the thing that people don't see is an elite work ethic like I've never seen."

Burrow's work ethic may be second to none, but what exactly does his regiment look like?

According to Dak Notestine, the director of performance for Black Sheep Performance in Cincinnati, Burrow works out four to five times a week anywhere from 40 minutes to two hours.

"He takes a couple of weeks off after the season. But I'm getting those text messages pretty quickly [after the season]," Notestine added. "He's committed 100 percent. He's dialed in."

Being the No. 1 draft pick comes with big expectations, but Burrow has certainly lived up to them thus far and is showing no signs of slowing down.

He has taken his team to back-to-back AFC title games and a Super Bowl appearance over the past two seasons. However, the 2023 version of Burrow may just be the best one yet.
