How Joe Haden stacks up with the best CBs in Browns history

After a 12-year NFL career and three trips to the Pro Bowl, Joe Haden signed a one-day deal and retired last week with the Cleveland Browns

Haden played for the Browns from 2010-16, finishing the final five seasons of his career with the Steelers.

Haden's numbers compare favorably to some of the better corners in Browns history. His 19 interceptions place him 14th on the team's all-time list, behind names Hanford Dixon's  26, Frank Minnifield's 20 and the Browns' all-time leader in interceptions, Thom Darden, who finished with 45.

Minnifield and Dixon are considered among the Browns' best corners of all time. They made four and three Pro Bowls, respectively.

Unlike Haden, Minnifield and Dixon played on some of Cleveland's best teams in the 1980s. Haden never sniffed the playoffs with the Browns, who won only 29 games during his time with the team.

However, his regular-season stats give him an argument to crack into the top 10 list among Browns cornerbacks. In 90 games with Cleveland, Haden became the team's all-time leader in pass breakups with 101, per the team's website. (The NFL didn't track the stat until 1994.) It began right away as a rookie, when he had six interceptions and made the 2010 All-Rookie Team.

As a result, Cleveland's die-hard fan base embraced Haden while he played in Cleveland, becoming a fan favorite.

"What made me want to retire as a Browns player was the city of Cleveland and the fans that I connected with," he said, per the Browns' website. "I got drafted there at 21 years old. I was a kid, and I really feel like I grew up in Cleveland."
