How Lamar Jackson and Zay Flowers are building chemistry before training camp

This is the time of year when players around the NFL take time off before the long and demanding season begins. However, that hasn't stopped Lamar Jackson and rookie WR Zay Flowers from preparing for their first season together.

The two players are currently training together in Florida ahead of training camp and building on their connection which many believe can be special right away.

It's good to see the rookie wide receiver putting in extra time with his quarterback as the two are still getting a feel for each other on and off the field.

Flowers also missed some time during the offseason program with a soft tissue injury. It wasn't anything serious, but the Ravens wanted to be cautious with him, especially with their history of injuries to the group.

Baltimore's 2023 first-round pick has already received comparisons to great players such as Antonio Brown, DeSean Jackson and Stefon Diggs. If Flowers is anything like them, the team got itself a steal at pick No. 22.

The 22-year-old had 78 catches for 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2022, and Pro Football Focus believes he is the "best pure separator in the draft class."

Only time will tell how good Flowers is, but the Ravens' expectations for him and their team as a whole are certainly high for 2023.
